  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Can't Find Padilla Miami 8/11 anywhere

Anyone else love this stick?

Know where I can get some? :stretchgr
My B&M has quite a few I'll check while I'm over there today between classes. I will check prices and let you know. I will also check to make sure whether they are made in a Padilla factory or a Pepin factory. I have a box of each in lancero and you can tell the difference.

Okay quite a few has dwindled down a little bit. There are about six churchills at $12 ea or three for $34. They have lanceros as well also at $12 a piece there is also about 6 or so. Ooh and they're the Pepin stuff.

Padilla Miami 8&11 is a "Pepin Era" stick. Obviously Pepin does not make these cigars anymore. The new version is called the Padilla Miami. I've been told and read that the blend has not changed. Complete BS IMO. Any nitwit who smokes cigars (me) can taste the difference. To be honest, I prefer the new Padilla Miami.

I have yet to try the new ones but I have one sitting in the humi from a recent trade. I'm looking forward to trying it. In any case the box of churchills are the special release that's not just a square cedar box it's got lacquer and stuff on the outside. I think I remember hearing it was a 04 or 06 release. I'm sure someone here can correct me on that.

Padilla reps said the Miami has a different wrapper than the 8&11. So while the blend might not have changed, and important component that determines flavoe has definitely changed.

Supposedly all components of the 1932 are the same.

What puzzles me the most is that the Miami 8&11 was made in Miami. The new Miami was slated to be made in Padilla's new factory. But that isn't scheuled to open until the end of the 1st quarter. So it "seems" like the Miami cigars are not made in Miami.

That´s great to hear and thanks for having the stones to go against the Pepin club.
In my area, I'm in charge of the Pepin club. I'm just honest. Both cigars are great, however the new "Miami" is a little better. If a donkey shits the greatest cigars in the world, I'm gonna smoke them and tell the world.

I have to agree on both counts, big profile difference and I prefer the new stick as well.

Cigar King has one of the best cigars in the industry...Habana Leon
Unfortunately, the cost hike killed me. For two years, I smoked one or two of them every week. That is anywhere from 2 - 4 boxes per year. Now that they are roughly $200 per box, I have not smoked one since June.

Chuck,

As i fired up an El Centurion, I read your post. To be honest, I can't even fathom a 2005 Habana Leon. I started smoking them In early 2006. WOW!! When I met Mitchell in 2008, I told him the HL is the best Pepin blend on the market. I use to buy a box for $150, but now they cost $199. Yes folks, IMO it is better than the Tats. Ok Chuck, you sealed it. My next box is going to be a box of HL Churchill's

Thanks Chuck, I needed some pier pressure.
