  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Today I was perusing the auction websites and while on CigarAuctioneer I noticed that one of my favorite cigars (CAO Brazilia Piranha) was listed as discontinued. Yikes! I know with the recent changing of ownership that we've talked about something possibly happening with the brands. So I took a mad dash through some of the common online retailers (Famous, CI, etc.) and most have the Piranha listed as Sold Out...not Back Ordered...Sold Out. I hope that they're not doing away with that size of the Brazilia as it's my favorite and pretty much the only one in that line I never have a burn issue with. So I turn to you my BOTL friends...comfort me, give me good news, tell me I'm being paranoid...please.

Seems my fears might be justified. This is the response I got back from CI's customer service:

"Thank you for choosing Cigars International! I’m sorry to have to tell you the CAO Brazilia Piranha have been discontinued and will not be returning to inventory. The closest to that size will be the Cariocas which are 4x38."

Damn you General Cigar :argh:...

Thats lame! Those were one of the first sticks I fell in love with. I have 2 or 3 left. Looks like I'm going to be hunting all my B&M's this weekend.

CAO Brazilia Chocolate Pepsi.jpg

I am a huge Brazilia fan. I discovered something by accident. Take some good hard puffs on the stick and then take a big glug at a Pepsi or Coke.
It tastes just like the Chocolate Cokes we used to order at Bob's Big Boy Restaurant back in high school.

sorry to say but all of CAO may be discontinued sooner than later...general doesn't care about the brand.
This doesn't make sense to me. Why acquire a brand (especially one that has fans) only to make it obsolete? Wouldn't you rather purchase the brand to make the profits...:dunno:.

Been discontinued on that site for a WHILE now, Dan.

That's why you have the option to create a "Watchlist"...to keep track of what you like....

Brazilia Box Press and Ipanema have been DC'd for a while as well on that site.

Call Smoke Inn or Atlantic if yer feenin'.....

They said they wouldn't be discontinuing any cigars, I don't know if they meant brand's not sizes. But the Piranha's were of the best.

Now I'm worried. Please don't take over the world General.

This could be a good thing. Maybe if they cut back on production, they could get there QC in check, and stop producing plugged and average quality cigars. I have a couple Box Press and and an Amazon Brazilia in the humi that I will smoke eventually.
