  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

There are two upcoming tests of the Car of Tomorrow at Bristol.

The March 25th race will be the very first time the new cars are raced...the first of 16 races this year.

SPEED will have two 30 minute specials addressing the tests. One tonight and the other tomorrow night.

Is this why a week off?

I already selected my drivers for week 3. You can select drivers in advance like if your on vacation, away from a PC for a while, or to avoid Yahoo outages/down time as well.

No, they scheduled this test because of the week off...not vice versa.

You can choose your team for the next week almost as soon as the previous race ends.

Mine is picked already too.

They remind me of the Hondas parked in the local high school parking lot. The only thing is the wing serves a purpose on these rear wheel drive cars, unlike on the front wheel drive Hondas

Also the speeds they travel make it function unlike the rice burners.

I watched a show about making rice burners go fast and they said all that body work, fins, spoilers, ground effects, etc, do more harm then good at street speeds because of their added weight.

I think the COT of tomorrow, with it's reduced aerodynamics, will indeed make for better racing...just like the trucks, as the author pointed out.

They haven't been stock since the 80s so I'm not complaining on that front.

I'm with ya there! Use to be a Production Model with a set amount of sales to use the body style.
