CNN confirmed it this morning... he was found dead in his hotel room. Cause of death was suicide. Please, if you're having problems - get help.

Always watched the dude when one of his shows came on. Sucks he is dead but I could see him going out with suicide. Troubled past, he had a little Hunter S. Thompson in him. They met with like ends.

that's a shame. I really enjoyed his books and shows. Normally I'd steer clear of a writer/journalist that leans that far left, but he was very good at what he did. Usually showing both sides of a story and interviewing people regardless of whether or not they agreed with his beliefs. It sure seemed like he had a dream gig, can't imagine what brought him to doing something like that and leaving a kid behind.
