  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

As a preface, I'm typically a beer and bourbon man...don't much care for sweet drinks, especially with cigars, but the following hit the spot and went pretty well with the siglo VI and 100 Anos #4's we were all smoking when drinking said beverage.

HADESIAN RHUM:

Heavy Shot of Ron Mautusalem 15yr Anejo Rum
Dash of Lemonchello
Dash of Gran Mariner
Ice
Top with Lemonade
Garnish with pineapple spear and mint spring in old fashioned glass.

If any of you guys are Rum enthusiasts, try this one out...

One of my favorites of mine is a self made drink.
1 oz of Bacardi 151
1 0z Goldschläger
1/2 oz Martini & Rossi Dry Vermouth
Dash of lemon Peel
Put in an ice cold shaker with ice and shake.
Serve in a martini glass or stemless wine glass.

I know it sounds like a weird mix but it is a very smooth drink and can sneak up on you fast!

Question for you Sam, how much is a "dash"?

My 3 would be:

  1. Absolut Citron Vodka and Mountain Dew
  2. Jack Daniels and Coke (No Ice)
  3. Disaronno Amaretto neat
Always worked well for me.

I am typically all bourbon all the time. 1 or 2 cubes. Or Diet Coke or Pepsi if not drinking alcohol. However over the summer I experimented with Cigars and Mojitos and it was very good. Looking forward to the summer time and doing it again.

Here's mine:

Scotch neat
Bourbon neat
Rum neat
Tequilla neat
my bank account fluxuates far too much, and when I've got a pocket full of change, I'm not gonna bitch if there's some coke in my bankers club to keep it from tasting like a catapillar crawling around in my mouth.

now if I buy a bottle of hayden, you'd better believe nobody is mixing it with anything but an ice cube or two if they wish...

I. Love. Rum.

Neat, rocks, cocktails... it's all good.

I recently tried the Dark 'N Stormy with my cigar and loved it.
- 1.5 oz. Dark Rum (Myer's/Gosling's/Cruzan Black Strap)
- 4 oz. Ginger Beer (or to taste, I like more)
- Lime wedge
The rich molasses flavor of the dark rum and sweet bite of the ginger beer play very well together.

I also love a good Cuba Libre - Rum, Coke, lime juice.

However, it's hard to beat some HC7 or Zacapa with 1-2 ice cubes....
