what kind of draw do you like to have on your cigar, loose,a light draw,or a more snug draw...for me if a cigar draws tight i trow the dam thing in the trash after i brake it,it burns me up to get a pluged stogie ,considering what we pay for them...just venting...:closedmou

I like 'em light. I had a very tight VR the other night and just as I was about to trash it, it opened up and became a great smoke. Sometimes you get lucky with such things. I have had a few that went the other way as well. . .:cursing:

if you don't have a draw poker, the best solution for a tight draw is to cut the cigar beyond the head. keep trimming it until it opens up. you might have to press the wrapper down to keep it from unraveling, but that is an alternative to pitching the cigar.

Light to medium draw for me. If it's too tight I seem to double puff it. John try that "Cuban Hand Roll" I sent you it's ultra loose draw.

I like a firm, medium draw when I'm smoking a cigar. If anything pisses me off more, it's a real loose drawing cigar. I can't stand that and I find it mostly in the Larger RG cigars (Robusto, Piramide, etc.).

I usually do the draw test before I smoke and if it's tight I'll put it back in the humi for a month or two. If it hasn't opened up after that time then I pitch it.

I'm like Puff13...tight draw just pisses me off! I'll toss it in a heartbeat. I like a medium to light, but don't want to work for it. Too many other things that are tight and hard to get...never mind...

When a cigar is too tight I roll around the end near the cap a bit till it loosens up. Does anyone else do this? If you do it gently sometimes it helps.

Hate, hate, hate a tight draw. Fredneck, in my understanding, a truly "plugged" cigar can not be cured by putting it back in the humidor. A tight draw? Yes. A plug, no.

I prefer a medium, tending towards light rather than firm draw.

I believe he's talking about clipping the cigar and taking a prelight draw, then if it's too tight, put it back in the humidor.

No. I usually take a draw to test it. Normally I just light it even it does seem tight. Most of the time it turns out to be plugged if it is tight before the light.

Anyhow, I wonder about just tossing the cigar back in the humidor. Would this help?

It helps with tight cigars, on occasion...a plugged cigar will not unplug itself. Usually with a plugged cigar there is a leaf folded inside or something.
