I've seen a lot of this over the years ... and I'm not referring to the insulting remarks smokers get from non-smokers. I'm talking about one cigar smoker to another.
Now some can be rather subtle and indirect ... like when MRN or other authors refer to certain cigar brands as generally being for "new", "inexperienced" or "novice" smokers.
Then there is the more direct and in-your-face approach as one smoker is called a "pussy" by another if he feels that a Bolivar CE is too strong for his liking.
I'm not sure where it's written that in order to be considered a real man or an experienced smoker you need to be able to enjoy the strongest cigars on the planet. Everyone's tastes and nicotine tolerence is different and should be respected. Just because someone needs a pot of expresso and an RyJ Cazadores to get his heart started in the morning, doesn't mean the Fonseca smoker and tea drinker is a wimp.
To everyone I say ... Smoke what you like and like what you smoke.
