Cigar of the Month Clubs

I've been tossing around the idea of joining one of the COTM clubs. I don't have a lot of experience with all the different makes of cigars and figured this may be a good way to familiarize myself with them.

I'm sure the majority of folks with a good knowledge base of cigars, that know what they like, would steer clear of these clubs. With that said, do you think this is a good idea for someone who knows they loves cigars but knows little about all the different companies and tastes?

Any particular COTM club you recommend?

I was on the Cigars International one for awhile and it was nice. I got to try a lot of stuff. I started figuring out what I like and some of the sticks I didnt care for so I stopped it. I would suggest you go with the deal for 2 of each because sometimes with 1 you just are not sure what you think. Also thier shipping was done well, the sticks came around the middle of the month. My buddy tried Cigars direct and they were horrible. Instead of shipping what they say they will they ship a sampler from one company (ie CAO, Oliva) and you could buy the sticks seperate for less then what they charge. Also they would charge him at the beginning of the month and leave him wondering if he would ever see them until they would show up near the end of the month.

That to me would be the best option to a new cigar smoker!

The Party Source and Jungle Jims are gonna be your best (and cheapest) bets. Take notes during or after you smoke so you remember what you like and dislike. When you walk into the shop you can tell them and they will steer you in the right direction...Either that or let me know when you are going and I can meet you to help you out.

Oh jeesh...I did for about 3 months and quit...They stalked me for over a year calling, emailing and mailing me to rejoin.
