At any rate, we wound up a few months later living just around the corner from each other when I bought a house in his neighborhood. If you were looking for both of us, just try one house or the other, because odds are we were BOTH there.
I gave J a hard-shell cigar carrier for Christmas one year...pocket sized, carried four Churchill-sized sticks in an airtight seal.
He was in the military at the time, and got sent for a short term remote assignment to the Azores. I was working for the government, but also owned a mail order business.
Periodically, he would send that case back to me, addressed to the business rather than to my home, loaded with Cuban cigars.
I'd get it, pull the cubans out, and stuff it with his favorite La Gloria's, which surprisingly enough, he couldn't find there, and send it back to him.
We never had a problem.
