I actually use my Henry's cigar tools. Not sure if they are sold anymore but I love them.

I did that very early in my cigar smoking days, but found it didn't really help that much.
And it doesn't do a thing to cool the smoke.

But don't let me stop you guys from getting your money's worth. If you enjoy the nubs, more power to you.

I find that purging will help sometimes at about the halfway point, but when you get down to the band, I totally agree with you. It's very rare that I will smoke a cigar past the band, just too harsh.
