Basically, it's blowing air through the cigar. Sometimes people hold a lighter to the end for some reason...personally I only purge, without the lighter, when the cigar has inadvertantly gone out on me.

I remeber when I was a real newbie,(only a semi newbie now) and I had no clue what half of the abbravations meant. I felt lost at times till some one showed me that link. I think that is a great help to newbies. Just like Common FAQ pages are.

Maduro
The word means ripe in Spanish and refers to a dark reddish-brown almost black wrapper shade.

Puro
The Spanish term for cigar

Tubos
Cigars packed individually either in wood, metal or glass tubes.

Vitola
Refers to the size and shape of a cigar - a Robusto or Corona are examples.

Before that it was CC - For the life of me i couldn't come up with it. But alas, how could i not see that it means Cuban Counterfit?!?! Damn government conspiracy.
