  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Cigar Tourism provides the BEST cigar trips available anywhere, nothing compares. Whether it’s Nicaragua or Dominican Republic, taste the best of where your are visiting. Stay in excellent hotels. Receive cigars every day. Hang out and smoke with the cigar-makers. Memories for a lifetime.

Nicaragua & Honduras Trip: The most popular Cigar Tourism trip is now even better. The whole Garcia family and some brand owners (possibly Pete Johnson) will be there. Get inside the secretive Padron Factory with Jorge Padron. Blend your own cigars and take some home.

Dominican Trip: You see more here than you see at ProCigar. Litto Gomez and Carlito Fuente are on my trip. It is like the best of Procigar + Litto & Carlos in a smaller group so you can have personal relationships with the cigarmakers.

OPEN TRIPS 2012:
Jan 29- Feb 2 Nicaragua (Places Available!)
Jan 22-26 Dominican Rep. (Places Available!)

Colin Ganley
Chief Editor USA - European Cigar Journal
- will be leading all trips currently scheduled.
“I will take participants behind the scenes and introduce them to the key players in the world of premium cigars. It doesn’t get much better than a good cigar behind the scenes in a great climate!” - CG

Guys, if you are on the fence about doing a trip like this, you should really consider going with this group! Colin is well respected in the cigar industry as well as being joined by the Dog Watch fellas. There is a long thread here on BOTL from over a year ago that journals their trip and it is a great read, telling their experiences in detail.

(edit: I actually searched for the thread, found it and realized the journal is actually missing from the website that Craig wrote. I PM'd him to see if he can post it again as it really is a great read for anyone wanting to do a trip like this) http://www.botl.org/community/forums/showthread.php?t=36609&highlight=dogwatch

Of course I'm biased as our BOTL Nica trip was a great experience because Pete and the Garcia family hosted us the entire time, but if you are a Padron fan, you should not miss the trip above. You will get to see a handful of factories and meet with a few companies.

Thank you all for the warm welcome back. These trips are also great if you are working on gaining experience or just knowledge towards a Tobacconist University certification. I am working on my Master Certification and have about %80 of my hours via these trips. Since you get to see several different factories and talk face-to-face with the people behind the brands, it is an invaluable opportunity to learn.

I will gladly give Craig space on our site to post the travelogue.
