BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE
Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

There's a Best Western out by Soldier Field, Shedd Aquarium and such, actually walking distance to those, the Field Museum, Adler Planetarium and then you can get day passes for $5 to ride the L downtown. If you consider this route, be sure to have breakfast at the 11 City Diner!
Honestly, my favorite spot is the Sheraton Four Points. You would be one block away from the Magnificent Mile (Michigan Avenue), and two blocks away from one of the Rosebud restaurants, as well as the best pizza in Chicago - Giordano's. There is an EL stop within blocks, and you can get to Wrigley in 15 minutes.
The cost is average for Chicago (for a nicer hotel): $195 - $245 per night (but if you look you can find some savings). Check it out here:

I've also found great deals at the Millenium Knickerbocker, which is in the same general area.
If you want to save some $$s and still be on Michigan Avenue (although a little more South, but still walkable to Miracle Mile) check out the Congress Hotel. You can usually get a great deal on an older hotel, that is very clean and in a good location.

The Knickerbocker is a nice hotel right downtown I believe it is now owned by millenium? As far as where to have pizza? My favorite is UNO or DUE downtown on Ohio and DUE is right down the street 1 block away. Those the traditional with the layer of sausage(YUMMY!) and corn meal crust. These are different than the chain that you can find across the country. If you want to try a Chicago original that is not talked about to much try the Chicago Pizza and Over Grinder on 2121 N Clark. They have what you call a Pizza pot pie and it's just fantastic. You can get either the 1/2 pounder or the full pound. They are your own personal Pizza pot pies and are out of this world. I've never had there sandwiches but they are huge. Hope this helps?
Eat at Giordanos, and the Chicago Chop house. I've stayed at the Palmer house and the hilton the last three times I've been there for conferences.

If you want a value hotel that is just outstanding, check out The Orchard Hotel. The Orchard is a boutique hotel, on Nob Hill, near Union Square, and on the Powell Street cable car stop. You can get in for anywhere between $199 and $250 per night. Definitely check them out.
