Clogged

As I posted in the 'Starter' thread, I smoked a pipe for the first time this past weekend. Pipe is (was) brand new and has a deeper bowl than others, I think. I had draw problems throughout. But better after first bowl and reamed it out. Went to smoke it tonight and tried it before even packing and I can't draw anything at all. Tried clearing with pipe cleaners, pipe tool, paper clip. The leaf that got mashed in or suckered in has hardened big time. I don't want to hurt the wood, but seems like I'll need power tools...lol
Suggestions? Soak some water in the bowl or something? Just don't know how bad that might be for the pipe. Thanks in advance!

Is it stuck in the stem or shank? If it's in the shank use the pick on a pipe tool to shove it thru into the bowl.

Thanks, Dave! It was in the 'shank'. That worked. I had done that, but to no avail. I'd been too gentle; afraid to break or scratch, or otherwise damage it. This morning, I put a little more force behind it and now it seems all clear. Can't wait to light it up tonight.

Sometimes you just gotta pokem' hard!

Packing a pipe is just one of those things you have a do a bunch of times before you start getting good at it.

And even then I still mess up my fair share of bowls! hahaha
