  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Now I doubt I will have time at all to meet up as I will be out there for a wedding on the 9th (I might have time on the 10th or 11th) But I figured this would be the best place to post this.

What do I need to do cigar wise. I will have limited time since my friends aren't into cigars like me but I will probably have some time to do some necessairy things.

I will be mostly on Long Island majority of the time with at least a few days of going into the city.

Also this is my first time flying with cigars. Anything I should know? I know not to bring a lighter since on the way there I'm just doing carry on.

And I know there's a lot of craft beer guys here and I'll ask on beeradvocate too but anything I have to do beer wise while I'm there?

Thanks and sorry if this is the wrong place for this or if this is a real noob question. I'm vey new here

Torches and cutters are a no-go. When I fly I take my little Herfador 5-finger humi w/ a pack of wooden matches, and I have a key chain punch I take with me. I am told that cigar scissors are ok too but I haven't ever tested those waters.

Flown with cutters in checked and carry on many times with no issues. Last time, . I had a Robson and a soft flame in my backpack and they didn't say anything. Usually put torch in travel humi.

Ok so just like regular Bic lighters? And you can bring a guillotine?

I wouldn't take a DuPont soft flame in case you meet an idiot in the TSA but any soft flame like a bic or DJeep will be fine, as are guillotine cigar cutters.

Anyone from NY have any cigar suggestions. Going to stop by Nat Sherman and NY Cigar Inn. Any cigars I have to pick up while I'm out there that I may not be able to find. Sorry again if it's a noob question
