Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.
mmm wafflesMy favorite thing is smoking a stick of butter wrapped in a waffle. Just like my pal Homer!
Bingo! I learned this as well from having a completely full humi to one that is barely half filled. 80% is a good level playing field as you need some room in the humi and not packed like sardines.I agree with Moro. I have had far more problems with rH when my bins are either too empty or too full. I find that at 80% of the volume filled up (with cigars, cedar boxes, etc.) that the Heartfelt beads keep the rH rock-steady.
Hahaha one of the funniest things I've seen on here in a while. My favorite thing is smoking a stick of butter wrapped in a waffle. Just like my pal Homer!
you have a gel humidifier. recharge with PG/distilled water. You want the gel to absorb all the humidor solution that you pour into the jar. you do not want any loose water in the jar in case it tips over.OK Ron - thanks. I'm trying to get these things straight in my mind. What I thought were beads is probably gel. Looks like very small chunks of clear (wobbly) ice. So do I recharge with PG or PG/dist wtr or is just dist wtr OK?? And should I see a "water line" in the jar?? Cant thank you brothers enough for your time & assistance....
instead of switching back and forth between different humidifiers, use them together. there is nothing wrong with using beads and Bovedas together.I happen to like my cigars at 70%, but it is truly impossible to achieve. As the picture shows, I have plenty of beads and a solid humidor with a great seal. I just bought a new hygrometer and it is calibrated and reliable and adjustable.
I have used the Heartfelt Bead case unsuccessfully. I have also used 72% Boveda humidipaks (four of them) with consistent 65% results. This is not my first humidor, and I have used MANY humidification techniques.
The only thing I can think of is that I don't have enough cigars to stabilize the humidity. The more the better!
It just doesn't seem possible. Any thoughts?
You can treat PG and distilled water like they are the same thing. PG just costs more!OK Ron - thanks. I'm trying to get these things straight in my mind. What I thought were beads is probably gel.
