  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Buy a Ridgid at Home Depot. Life time warranty !!! On the drill and the batteries.....batteries replaced for life !!!!
Better make sure you register it with the factory though. I bought a Ridgid 12v version drill with charger and 2 batteries a few years back from Home Depot , salesman told me no need to worry about doing paperwork that Home Depot honored the lifetime warranty in store. Fast forward 4 years and I have 2 dead shorted batteries( bad contact design corrosion prone) and a locked up chuck, brought it to them and was informed they can't do anything for me the sales guy was full of Shit and no longer works there, and Ridgid won't make it good without registration and original sales reciept . Learn from my experience

Throwing in my 2 cents...
I use a dewalt 18v impact daily for work. Works great. But when i went to replace my craftsman a couple weeks ago i went to a buddy who grew up with construction. He recommended Hitachi for my general home owner use. Got a set with 2 lithium 18v batteries impact and drill for about 150 at lowes. Works great for me. Good luck. New power tools are like new toys for kids. I have been screwing everything lately! :(

Just wanted to post a follow up to this. I ended up waiting like a lot of people said, because these things seem to all go on sale for Black Friday. I grabbed a Milwaukee 18 volt set from Home Depot. Drill, impact, charger and 2 batteries 149 bucks. They aren't brushless, but more than meet my needs for power and are nice an compact and light weight. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwauke...act-Driver-Combo-Kit-2-Tool-2691-22/100650378
