Yes, yet another thread on the old boy.

I have a few gift cards and have decided I'm going to finally break down and get an old boy. My question is has anyone ever seen one (or better yet, owns one) up close in the briar finish, specifically the smooth briar? Did they have to make the body of the pipe, and therefore the tank, any smaller to allow for the briar sleeve?

I have always liked the look of smooth briar but if it detracts from the usefulness of the lighter I will go with the striped chrome.

Not yet, but I keep going back to the consideration. Now, getting caught up here way too much time away and I read testimonials like that!
