  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Crab Porter... yes, crab.

I'd try it. I like trying odd stuff. Speaking of that, but on a totally unrelated topic, had a sample of Speckwurst the other day. A liver and blood sausage. One of the worst things I've ever tasted. Think rancid meat paste with flecks of pork fat mixed in. Blech.

Did they make you eat it with your eyes closed? I just googled it and I can tell you from the pic I saw there's no way I would have tried that willingly.

I've heard people talk about the oyster stouts before and say they were good, I'm convinced the only way that could have been invented was by brewing when they were already drunk.

I don't think this has bacon in it, but apparently you get the flavor of bacon.

I'd try it.. I wonder how much they'll be shipping. Might check with some local places, try and get some for a review or something.

I have had the oyster stout its actually not bad at all.. Very crisp on the finish when right out of the fridge once it warmed to room temperature it was alot better the sweetness from the malt really came through to stop the dryness.. I did not taste fishy or like oysters at all(thank god).. I wish I had bought more.. I also enjoyed the Exit 4 which was a American Trippel but I am partial to any trippel.. Hence the Avatar

I've had an oyster stout before as well and did enjoy it.

On a side note... Rogue is releasing a Scotch Ale on Oct 1. First time since 1995.

That just sounds and probably tastes nasty. Anyone here planning to buy a bottle to test it?

I doubt they'd be making and distributing something that tastes nasty. Now taste is a subjective thing and preference is a personal thing.

Hell I recently had a Smuttynose Pumpkin ale that I thought was terrible. Too bitter no pumpkin and thin, over all something I would pick miller lite instead of that pumpkin beer. Some people seem to really like the smuttynose stuff though....
