I even use a zippo and have had not bad taste experiences. I just let the zippo burn a few seconds and it is fine. Butane is fine but I have had a 100 of them and they all seem to die on me.
Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.
It's all about the type of butane you use. You have to use a quality brand like VectorI even use a zippo and have had not bad taste experiences. I just let the zippo burn a few seconds and it is fine. Butane is fine but I have had a 100 of them and they all seem to die on me.
The 5 Vegas Ronson took three only. The one with a variety of CC bands (still under construction - no pictures) will take about 12 to 14 bands. A standard size Zippo has about 10% more surface area to cover. A lot of it depends on the bands and the amount of wastage to get the best features of the bands centered. A Ronson takes 4 Opux X and 4 Gurkha bands, but probably 20 Cuban Montecristo bands. Anyway, that's more than you want to know about it I'm sure... <G>hey man...about how many bands do you need to make a lighter?
The only thing that's absolutely required is patience... <G> I have a few orders outstanding right now, and I couldn't get one done in less than two weeks time. This is just a hobby for me not a job, and I won't rush through it to meet a time schedule. How many cigars for doing a ronson? Or do I have to pay the price of the ronson about $5 and then send you whatever cigars I feel are worth it for the band job and maybe even throw in some cigar bands for the heck of it?
The seams where the lighter opens are extremely difficult, and this one just fell perfectly into place. I was happy with it.damn...that's freaking sweet!!!
I do love the pics of them.Love the pics tho and :welcome: to you again.
