In theory it doesn't matter, as cello breathes.
When I first started collecting cigars about a year ago, I took all my cello off. I don't do that anymore unless I'm putting those sticks down for a long time, not to be touched. The reason is that cello offers great PROTECTION for the cigars. I do a ton of trading and bombing, and receive a lot as well. I've received many un-celloed sticks that have been damaged, especially if extra care isn't taken to protect them in transit. Not to mention that I'm constantly rearranging things in my bins, and so am moving cigars around. Just rolling around in a box can damage a cigar's wrapper in many cases. Cello is my friend!
