  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

For the first time in what I'm guessing is close to 300 flights, my bag was searched on Tuesday because of my travel humi. TSA didn't care about the cutters or matches. The humi "looked suspicious."

So was the screener just overly sensitive, or has it been missed almost 300 times? Ha ha, kidding. In any event, turned into a non-issue except it didn't leave me with enough time to get coffee...

Yeah I used to fly with a metal travel humi... did that for about 6 months and after I got searched every other time, I finally got a plastic Xikar one to appease them.

Every once in a while, though... some overpaid-under-qualified-badly-trained-absolutely-worthless-drain-on-my-tax-dollars-security-guard (I mean... highly motivated TSA Agent) still wants to see my cigars... I've learned to build in 30 minutes for security even though I get to take the fast line (inevitably, even if all goes well for me, a body scanner will pick up 8 cents in some criminal's [math teacher's] pocket in front of me that has to go back through it and hold the line up... or some evil terrorist [grandma] will do something horrible like bring a snowglobe home from vacation).

Did I mention how much I LOVE the TSA and think it's a GREAT way to spend CRAP TONS of our tax dollars on a non-proactive federal organization to protect me while traveling with a private company... all while refusing to take REAL security measures like profiling, behavior recognition, pre-flight interviews, etc...?

Sigh... I feel you, Matt... I feel you...
...and don't even get me started on the naked body scanners!

Oh I so agree... I was at an airport a couple of weeks ago, and the ****nut <highly qualified person> that was running the body scanner/metal detector was a 20 something girl with PURPLE hair... seriously, how can anyone be expected to be taken seriously when the look like they just came from an all night rave?
