  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Hello all!

I have been wanting to try Dark Lord Beer for a while, but have never been able to get my hands on any...

I would love to get two bottles (one for me, one for a friend to drink on his birthday), but one bottle is fine as well :)

Cash or Cigars for trade :)

Thanks!

Ha, I've been looking for this for about 2 years. I did not want to spend an outrageous price.

Nice, what does a bottle of that stuff cost when you buy it from the brewery? I have seen and heard of some ridiculous prices for it on ebay and other places. I'm contemplating making another batch of big RIS soon. I might throw some flaked barley and oats in there for more mouth feel then do a little vanilla been and some oak cubes.

It was $15 a bottle.
They had last years on tap for samples. A vanilla DL (which was gone when we got there), then a bourbon aged 2009. That was GOOD.

That's really not too bad considering it's 3oz shy of the quantity in a wine bottle. There's lots of good wines for $15 and I get more enjoyment out of beers so I'd say they're prob worth it.

Thinking outloud from a financial standpoint if I were to brew something at this scale of malt/alcohol it'd cost $439 to buy as many Dark Lords as we could make in a 5gallon batch. I could make the same amount of what would cost $439 for $38. Beers of this scale is a big reason I got into home brewing. Big RIS and IPAs are spendy at the store and if I can make some I like at $40 for two cases I'm a really really happy dude.
