Dating tobacco

Just picked up a couple of tins and was curious as to dating.
The McClellands Dominican Glory has 050106 on the bottom which I'm assuming is 05/01/06?
the Frog Morton on the town has 461103. this one I was confused any thoughts? G1

You got me on that one. I know there are some code charts floating around the internet somewhere that help to date older tins.

Did a little digging, apparently the first 4 numbers are a code so has nothing to do with date. the last 2 numbers are the year it was produced. That being noted, I just picked up these tins last week. so one is a tin from 06 and the other from 03. Hmm I guess some of these don't' sell lol. Not complaining, great to find aged tobacco right on the shelves. G1

I'm surprised you found a tin of FMOTT from '03 .... that sells like crazy around these parts!! Great grab!!

I wasn't even searching. Just happened to look when I read a few posts about packing dates. Obviously the shop does a lot more cigar sales lol. G1
