Tonyt (CBID) answered my ISO for a Dirty Rat and asked that I give a review when I smoked it. Never did a real review but for a stick like this I figured Id try for Tonys generosity.
Construction: Seamless dark brown wrapper with a bit of oil.
Burn: Razor sharp burn; tons of smoke; tight white ash (only ashed at the halfway point and at the end)
Flavor: Im not even going to pretend to pick out the exact flavors, but the first 1/3 was pretty peppery which sweetened up during the 2/3. The last third was an ass-kickerleathery with blasts of pepper.
To me this would be a perfect 100. Not much more to say about it. Over the past few months I have been gravitating to the corona and corona gorda sizes. The combination of strength and complexity made the cigar. I just wish I had another to smoke as soon as I finished that one to continue the experience. Not sure what the price point is (will be) but Im hoping it isnt prohibitive enough to keep me from a couple boxes.
Kind of funny path for me as Drew Estate pulled me into regular cigar smoking a few years back with the Natural line and Copper Label Legends. As my tastes changed I moved away from the brand. Now I would probably put the T52 and Flying Pig in my Top 5. Needless to say I cant wait for this to be released. Thanks again Tony.
