  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

That is one stick I have not yet tried nor seen.

Maybe some day.

PS: I love your informative reports. Can you throw a weather report in too. Kinda like

"Mmmm. Sunny. Good." Open your mind my friend.

I trust Mr. WigWams judgment. :grinFU:

Besides, he must have a decent palate considering all the amazing smokes he tries.

Or dead taste buds...who knows?! :dunno:
Then again, this thread is a DCEdA Double Robusto review, so back on track, shall we?

as far as Donk's comments are concerned, i could give a rat's ass if someone can taste leather or huckleberries or whatever. Wiggy's reviews work for me. Is it good or not? the reviews i've done were like his. only without the pics.

Holy Crap. I was just joking. I did not mean to stoke a fire. Donk, your my pal and I understand where you are coming from. But to be Frank, I think we (Botl) are who we are because of our "freedoms" to post as we feel. As long as it is in line with what the Moderators see as fit. It's easier to just pass on reading a thread by and individual that you are not "in-line" with than to shake it up.

Wiggy, no harm my friend. Just F'in around.

Just my 2 pennies. I enjoy the brotherly love we have. That's why I'm here. Nothing but respect for one another. That and sharin the share (thanks AB).

Peace Out.

I've had this particular cigar in both the 2006 and 2007 release and I will say it is a very good stick! Is is worth the money? I think it is good enough to have for a special occassion but not to make the regular rotation now with my pocket book. I love the Chateau de la Fuente wrapper on there gives it some opus loving flavors. But it's not an opus at all totally different beast but very good. Would you think anything other than very good would come out of the Fuente camp? I never do!

Well I know we're thread jacking here, but I wish I could get an idea of what kind of smoke it is. I'm glad you got to smoke it Kumar, but was there anything that stood out? I mean an Ice cold Coors Light is dam good, but it's nothing compared to an ice cold Fat Tire. Just saying I'm not going to harsh on you for it, but I can't go buy one just to see if it's goood, I would like to know a bit more. Either way the pictures are good and create good foder for photoshop jokes.

i'd never even heard of the stick before. would i read a whole review? probably not. they just frustrate me cuz i never taste any of that other stuff. i skip to the bottom to see if it was good or not. base on his review am i more likely to buy one if i ever see it? probably. movie reviews are the same way for me. all i care about is whether or not it's worth seeing. i'll make up my own mind as to how i feel about it AFTER i do it.

I can write real reviews. Look them up.

I can use my patented "Thumbs Rating System"

However, I tend to use a very simple system:
1. Good stick
2. Taste like shit

like i said a while ago. screw the "on a scale of 1 to 10 how is she?" it's really a "would i? or wouldn't i?" question. :waving:

For those who feel like writting a review is hard, I'll give ye the tips I started with when I felt the same way:

1) Do not be afraid. Post what ye appreciate from the cigar without fear of a beating
2) Go for general flavours. Sweet, spice, sour and salt are easily found and respectable points.
3)Do not be afraid. Worth saying twice; at least ye're trying
4) Refine yer palate. Look for that thread in the NC guides; as well as read other reviews and try to find the flavours ye read in the cigar ye're having.
5) Just go with it. Once ye start, it's easy.
