Don Gabriel Customs?

Has anyone smoked the older Don Gabriel custom cigars recently? These cigars were touted as cuban cigars but from what everyone says, he has backed off these claims as being full cuban. So who knows what they truly are.

But, I have received some of his older (4+ years) Especiales, same size as CCE's, and I was wondering if they are any good? I've had them for a little while now and have been curious to try one, but haven't pulled the trigger yet.

I've smoked a few in the past few years. They are some Cuban not all cuban. Not bad but not spectacular.
I've got a few salamones from a gb he did on another board but those went flat after a month or so.
Whattever tobacco he's using isn't select grade A tobacco but it's the same export tobacco you would find in the cheaper penamil or Goyas.
