and consider this from Cigar.com....

"Because of an extremely rare strand of corojo wrapper used to create the El Centurion, only 800 boxes each of three select sizes were produced in 2007, making this the smallest, most elite project "Don Pepin" Garcia has ever undertaken."

....and he only produced them that one year, I believe.

It looks like the seeds were from 98 and 99. Once that crop was grown, it was aged for 3 years.

Very overrated. Not a bad smoke, but not worth all the hype, IMHO. Medium bodied, not very complex. Nothing stands out as far as flavors. The flavors that can be tasted are muted and not sharp. I bought a box, and find myself smoking them during yard work :/
Big fan of Don Pepn, don't get me wrong, but this aren't his best.

Funny, that was my first impression as well, glad you said it first. I will put the others I have down for a few years to see if they come around.

well, i for one, love them. i find it to be a very refined taste. not a powerful, ikn your face spiciness...but more mellow. Mine have been laying in my cooler for about a year now and they should be getting nice and ripe.

can't wait to fire one up this summer and give it the attnetion it deserves.

The wonderful things about cigars is there are 1360 different brands, so different smokes for different folks. The El Cents are good, but there are lot's of better smokes imho. Not saying I don't smoke them, but I just wouldn't drop the coin to snag a box unless it was a great deal!
