Exactly what was said above. They were boxed in '01 and sat on the vendors shelf so then the were checked for overfilling/underfilled/poor construction, etc. and stamped with the date they were revised. This happens a lot with thing RG cigars. Most noteably the Lanceros.

My box of LC's came in with the same stamps. I searched for the answer and it's exactly what Cliff posted. No worries!

Nice score on the 01's!! First time I had the dbl date stamp I thought I had a box of fakes, called vendor and he told me that it was a restamp for inspection!:jitb:

I've read on a German site in an interview with a Habanos rep that the cigars are tested, i.e. smoked. One cigar from the box is smoked. If OK, another is smoked. Then all cigars from the same code are pulled, sorted for color and then repackaged. I find this to be plausible, as I have revisado boxes where the color matching is not as close as what I would normally expect. I can't remember what happens if the first cigar is bad.

This is like the other day when I was at MacDonalds and got a double chicken nugget.

There isn't anything wrong with the double 'X'. Sometimes the 'Revisado' boxes get them.
I thought they always got either XX or XY if they were revised? I don't have first hand experience with this though because I haven't a revisado box.

From the title ... I thought this might have been an NSFW thread.

I was disappointed ... until I saw Todd's "XX" ... but then got disappointed again.

I have one with the XX but without the stamp...I also have one with a lettered seal over a non-lettered or numbered seal.
