Alton Brown had an episode on brewing coffee that was pretty cool. He uses an electric kettle to warm the water then gets a caraft (sp?) and puts one of these cup top or other filter and puts it on top. and just slowly pours the water in. He also said some stuff about how most coffee makers are crap.
