  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Epernay
serié 2009
This blend originally debuted in 2008 through the e c c j 15th limited release*.From this blend, Epernay has been made into four unique and exciting sizes with a combination of Criollo and Corojo tobaccos. The cigar is finished with a superior-grade Café Rosado coverleaf. The Epernay blend is very complex and perfectly balanced treating the palate to hints of coffee and honey, further enhanced through the olfactory with floral notes, and a creamy finish.
Strength: medium
Body: medium/full

Le Petite - 4 1/2 x 44 Le Ferme - 48 x 5 1/4 Le Grande - 6 x 46 Le Elegance - 5 3/4 x 40

Just finished a Le Ferme. It was delicious as I expected it would be. The flavors were right up my alley. Definitely coffee and cream, but not one dimensional at all. Smooth. Tasty. It was very medium or even a bit less so in strength for me. I loved it but finished thinking that I wished it was bigger in taste.

One thing though: it lasted a good hour or more. My son had an Oliva Connecticut Reserve lonsdale, considerably longer at 6.5", but he was through his way faster than me. And I'm a relatively fast smoker.

These dropped at the shop on Friday and are a really good stick. I like the smaller ring gauges and a dismissal of the current trend to make everything a 6x60. It is NOT blended or rolled by Pepin and is supposed to be an exact remake of the ECCJ but in four vitolas. Le Grande is my favorite.

Very good point. My maturity level has not changed since my freshman year in college (a good part of the reason that I no longer drink). My budget favors Uvezians over utilities and seeing a big ass patch on a Padron 80th (which i saw the other day) could possibly affect my opinion of the entire 2009 year. Not sure these are traits that you would consider to be in a grown ass man. Oh well, then there has got to be a benefit to being one who SHOULD be a grown ass man but has been corrupted by corojo.

One thing I still am not sure about. Will ECCJ production cease forever? Because the Epernay doesn't have that vitola.

I had my first compliments of steve (srduggins). While it was a great smoke(dont know which RG), I still like the Eccj better. I think they are more "Well Rounded" with more flavor profiles throught the whole cigar. Also the bigger gage Epernay to me was very spicy. Not bad normally but took away from the flavors of this blend. I definitelywill smoke more Epernays but will prob reach for the Eccj earlier in the day. Just my 2 cents

That was the robusto and these are definitely worth another try. I smoked the Petite Lancero and thought it was almost every bit as good as the eccj (which I love). A little time to smooth out the end is all it needed and I didn't notice a preponderance of spice in this vitola, just enough to add to the complexity of the smoke. Just after that, I went to a B&M and smoked an eccj that turned out to be the worst eccj I have ever had. It was still OK, but nowhere near what I was expecting.
