  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Well a while back I ended up getting some pipes mostly for the Dr Grabows in the lot but it did have a pipe I haven't seen before Sadly I didn't take an early picture of the pipe when it had the bowl filled with cake that I couldn't even get my Czech tool into and had to start it with the nail part. Also don't look like it but I did take a lot of tar off the out side before it dawned on me that I should have took a earlier picture This will take some work but hope to get most of it done over the weekend. It seems that I can't find my Wax so I won't be able to do a wax in the end but will as soon as I get some new wax.

Anyone heard of Hesson Guard? It has an interesting stem and seems to be from the 30's.

I love seeing pipes get brought back to life. I have a few estates coming in this weekend. I'll post before and after pics when I get them.

Ok Well it has been too long on this and I wasn't able to get it back to where I wanted it yet. My Buffer/Grinder went out on me. I was starting to do a pre buff once I got all the clear coat off the pipe and the thing started to make a noise like I was grinding on something... Turned it off checked around it and it was fine. Turned it back on and still grinding and didn't even do anything and it started to smoke.

So long story short I went to HD and got some wheels for the Drill and gave it a nice clean polish after I removed the clear coat that used to be on the pipe or half of it anyway LOL. Added some Paragon Wax and did a last buff. I had my son work on the Stem. You can see in the pictures here he did a ok job still needs some work, He said it couldn't see in the bathroom well enough to see the areas he missed. I will rework/finish it as soon as I get my buffer back or a new one. My uncle seems to think he can fix it so I will have to see. If not then I will just have to buy a new one because I can't live without one....
