  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

F'in winter, want to golf.

went to the local golf shop and hit some of the new drivers yesterday out of boredom.

New R9 is hardly different at all. (buy last years model and save your money)
New Nike Tour, dont recall the model. But man that thing is HOT I was smoking everything but couldn't hit fade/draw consistently.
Mizuno MP630, I could really work the ball but I was consistently about 20 yards shorter.

Club that surprised me the most was the ADAMS speedline it was the cheapest and I liked the feel the best, and was consistently matching my typical yardage.

Hit wedges but I cant tell you anything about them hitting them on a screen. But I'm going to be buying the mizzys over the Vokeys I just like the way they fit my swing and the top line of the club over the Vokeys

I'm a golf whore. Play a ton, every chance I can get. Have some good friends out on the PGA tour that I play a bit with and get some gear from.

My hdcp floats between +2 and 0 depending on how much money were playing for and how many scores I'm turning in. As for the gear, last season I played Titleist D-comp with a diamana blueX driver. TM R-7 TP (goosen cast non-offset) irons. Less than 100 sets made. Super soft casting and are sweet. Had them blueprinted at Kwok golf in SF, CA. Guy does amazing work. Then Callaway tour wedges, had them ground right off the van at the Players Championship at Sawgrass. Putter---- changes daily. Lol

This year I was in Carlsbad in January at the Callaway testing facility. My buddy, (famous tour pro) took me and had the full works done. After hitting about 400 balls their tour dept built me a full set of gear suited for my swing. Included is FT-iz driver with Diamana whiteboardX, 3&5 wood Diablo tour edge with blueboardX, 3&4 hybrid cally X prototypes, 5-w x22 tour irons with kbs tour 6.5's. Wedges are cally custom protypes hand ground by Rodger Cleveland (who loved smoking my aged Cuban stuff and is a great guy!!!). Putter is a tour issue odessey black with the black insert but will change as soon as I get to an event on the Florida swing since my buddy just switched from Odessey to Scotty.

As you can probably tell I'm an equiptment whore. There is nothing like going into the tour trailers at an event and raiding them!!! Love it, but if you read my whole post you probably figured that out.

My Pro filmed me putting without my knowlwdge and I was surprised how much my head moved, lookin for the hole. Have you ever tried putting with a cigar hanging out of your mouth? Try it if the cigar moves you know your head is moving. This helped me drop from a 3-4 handicap to 0-2 in a few short months.

PS: it works the same on short chips around the green
Funny you mentioned that. Every shot I hit has a cigar in my mouth. I tend to keep it in the leftside of my mouth whichkeeps myshirts burn free and my vision clear.

A little drill I use to keep my headreal still on putts is laying a 3' long yard stick on the green and stroking putts along the top of it. Focus on not moving your head. You will become fantatic from 8' and in.

Finally playing tomorrow again after not playing for a few weeks due to weather and my neck. Hopefully my neck is fine and will hold up so and I have a great round.
