I'll be working from home three days a week starting today. Working an OT shift today, but normally work Mon-Fri. Our department is moving locations and they are trying to cut down on space they need, so they are giving everyone an opportunity to work from home. I'll only have to be in the office on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. And, after being stuck in traffic again on Friday on the way home, I'm really glad I won't be fighting with traffic but a couple days a week now. I had a 45min commute if there was no traffic...it got longer when more idiots where out.
With the savings in gas, toll charges and time, it's like getting a raise. Yesterday, my wife and I reconfigured the home office and bought another desk and office chair. It seems to be a comfortable space. Plus, I got access to the bathroom, kitchen, and my balcony for the lunch-time cigar. AND, I'll be working in my sweats.
So, anyone else out there working from home?
