  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

first it was smokes and now...

I'd actually like to see something like that start to happen here. Right now, it's open season on tobacco, but when the health-nannies broaden their targets to include wine, maybe we'll gain some allies.

Before too long they'll be telling us to avoid the sun because studies have found it leads to an increased risk of skin cancer.:clap:Yay for paid off "scientists" and "doctors" that are devoid of ethics and will say anything they are told for a buck. I hope these assholes get a magnum wine bottle jammed up their asses and then cigars put out on their faces.

“Small daily doses of alcohol are the most harmful. There is no amount, however small, which is good for you,” said Dominique Maraninchi, INCA’s president.

It would appear that they have been studying the way the tobacco nazis here are attacking smoking. They want to immediately make the statement that moderation won't do you any good, you must stop completely. I've heard that methodology referred to as the "quit or die" mind set, and it's not at all uncommon here, especially with the "experts".

Did they learn nothing from the prohibition?
The problem is that they're zealots. They are convinced that they are right, and that frees them, at least in their minds, from the responsibility of assessing the validity of their opinions/actions before imposing their will on others. So, no, they didn't learn anything from our experiment with prohibition.

It was only a matter of time till these "moral crusaders, zelots, nazi's, anti's" went after wine, beer, liquor. Next we will be hearing about the effects of second and third hand beer on the poor children.
