All Week after Work! Fishing Like Crazy
My son has been a blast fishing with me all weekend and all week after work. So far we have fished at Weatherby after emptying the boat full of water from the thunder storms at the dock. My son caught some great fish right off the dock, he caught a huge sun fish using a Lip RipperZ Trout worm. He was using a blue colored plastic worm, the sun fish was huge it must had been at least 1lb and then he pulled out another sun fish just a little larger he was on a roll catching fish like crazy. I then handed him my rod in trade for his but this time it was not my regular pole...
This fishing rod was very old and fragile but wow so sensitive for trout, crappie or sun fish. The rod he received was one from my grandfather. This fishing rod is a Cherry wood Berkley Fishing Rod from the 1940s this was sent to him when he was first born. He was unsure about if he sould be accepting the rod only because he knows how much my grandfather means to me even as he is getting older everyday, and 3500 miles away....
My son continued to catch fish in fact I even got a few, I got a chance to pull in a 2lb Largemouth Bass off a white trout worm , but that was that lake...LOL
We have since fished almost everyday at a small pond in front our house in Kansas City. This pond is surrounded by houses now but we have some cool neighbors because we just walk down from their lawn. On Thursday we pulled out 53 fish in 1 1/2 hours that is just crazy because we nailed them mostly off Berkley Trout Worms mixed with Lip RipperZ and Tfisherman.
We used orange, white, blue and brown and they all worked.. We both caught at least 20 fish each every night and we only had an hour to fish normally. Tonight we only caught a few but my son says "Blame it on my sister" she went tonight and she was very cute. She was casting my sons old rod that is a Johnson Thumb Casting Reel.... She was able to cast as far as the boys and she was styling..
I can't wait to start taking him Largemouth Bass in Fall Season. With the cooler temps around 70 things should start getting good for 4-6lb largemouth bass... Every Weekend Early
