  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I know...I kinda felt bad after I wrote that.:eyequiver

I guess I am to passionate about cigars....:crytears:
I've posted this before and will say it again since Clint mentioned it...

When RP's Edge first came out (I think around '04 or '05), it didn't have a band and was in a cab... it was an amazing cigar... especially for the price. I believe Nestor Plasencia made these cigars for Rocky in his Danli, Honduras factory. I went from those to his vintage lines and smoked them over a 6 month period. I even kept a few.

At the time RP actually opened up cigar trips for consumers and I went on a RP trip for nearly a week, staying at a rented villa near Danli, Hondorus. I learned a lot, smoked even more, and partied my butt off. This trip was in '06.

Anyway, I stopped smoking his stuff after the trip... I was burned out and wanted something new/different. I later took out those older cigars from my humidor and compared it to more recent blends in late '07, comparing the older Cigars to the newer Cigars on the market. The blends did change and they weren't as enjoyable. Maybe my palate changed, but I doubt it.

RP's stuff is simply not as good as it used to be imho. Therefore, I never smoke his stuff any more. The other thing that I don't understand is when I smoke RP's stuff (but not the vintage line... ) I get a very prominent blotchy coloring on my fingers that are holding the Cigar... It's not the typical stuff that you'll occasionally see with a Maduro or Oscuro . It's extremely prominent like a dye. I suspect they are not entirely Maduros due to fermentation, primings, etc...

I believe this is what you're referring to Clint.

That said, I know there are folks out there that enjoy RP's stuff. Clint and I may be wrong in our assessment... sorry Clint if I didn't express your opinion on this accurately.

Whoever is going to event, enjoy man! Have a good time!
