  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

For some ignorance is bliss.....

So I was on my way to a friends house and ran into one of the guys I helped coach the base highschool wrestling team with. Since he knows I'm a cigar lover he decided to rub it in that he felt that he was hot to trot and showed off a cigar he procured somehow. I looked at it and it was an El Rico Habano. So I said "looks like a nice cigar" and he tells me "it's cuban". You know with that sly wink trying to impress upon me that it's the forbidden nectar. I told him "wow I never heard of that being a cuban brand" and he told me "ooh yeah it's cuban". I just hope he didn't pay much for it actually thinking he got a cuban. If he wasn't leaving for the US in the morning I would educate him on how non-cuban companies often times put habano/habana/cuban on their cigars in order to make them more enticing to the unknowing American consumer.

I on the other hand smoked an El Centurion Guerreros tonight. It was gooood the spice that's normally there in the other Pepins, I noticed was a little toned down. Very much enjoyed it.

Send him an invite to BOTL. The only cure for the disease of ignorance is education.

You know I was looking through my band collection the other day and I'm positive a couple of the cohiba bands are from fakies. I'm not much of a CC guru and bought them much when I was 18/19. At least I THOUGHT it was a cuban cigar, if it wasn't at least they fooled me with a counterfeit of an actual cuban vitola.:wtf:

I have had this happen with my friends alot. I really don't have the heart to disappoint them, and they are all relatively smart guys. It's hard for me to believe that people would make rash assumptions like that without taking a step back and saying, "these can't be a real cuban?". Any way I don't bring it up, I just roll with it.
