You don't really need the extra cedar, or so I've been told. I use some for shelves for extra peace of mind. I use the fans for the same reason. I use the Oasis XL and beads, never have any problems. The swings in RH are out in the open, I keep my remote readers in boxes and inside, there are no swings at all. Out in the open, with the Oasis and beads as backup, the swings are minor and short lived...you won't regret it...
HOWEVER - don't use a mini fridge. Wine coolers don't remove as much humidity as a fridge; something is different, I have no idea what it is..been told that by the dude at the store when I asked the same question.
