  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Hey y'all,
Short story, my wife is due with the birth of our second child in the fall and i'm wanting to buy myself an Opus X! Two reasons, first off, i think the birth of my child is worth a premium smoke and 2, and more importantly, the Dr. will then be taking care of me to make sure we dont have any more kids...in other words, snip snip! I figure, the day my "best friends" are clipped is a worthwhile enough reason to have an Opus. I prefer a big cigar...what do you recommend and what is a fair price? I'd like to offer up a trade but unfortunately, because of my wife being pregnant, my premiums are at a mininum right now. Thanks as always in advance! Take care,

Jay

What you consider a fair price on Opus depends largely on how much of a rush you are in to get them. A fair price for the larger Opus I think is around $13-$15, but finding them at that price is hit and miss at best. Around here I never see the larger sizes for under $20 each on auction sites like cigarbid.com mid 20's is the norm for the RDC, #2, and Super B when I see them pop up.

Well I can get a my hands on a Opus X "A" for you. It comes in it's own coffin, so you'll have a keepsake. It's like 9x46 or something like that. Problem is they run me $40. Pretty sure someone else can get a better price for you.

Looking at the website Davidoff#2 posted, i'm most interested in the X No 2, X Super Belicoso, or the X Scorpio. Are the prices listed on this site common or can they be had for cheaperif i have time to look? Thanks again for all of your help...DPrice, if that Coffin X was a thicker ring gauge, at least a 52, i'd be alot more interested but that is alot of $ for a cigar and as much as i love a fine cigar, the responsible Dad is saying HELL NO!!! Thanks!

give Darlene a call over at tampasweethearts and see what she has in stock. very decent prices!
That's good advice! Also try this website www.vitolas.net and check the opus msrp prices and then check you state tobacco taxes which you'll find in there also and from my understanding you might see a 9% increase in prices this year. You will be able to find opus about 1 month before Father's Day they come out twice a year the other being Christmas. Finding a local retailer would probably be your best bet and knowing proper pricing will also arm you to know what to expect. Congrats on the future kid and no congrats on getting snipped, that sucks but good luck.

There is a site I have used in the past for Opus cigars,,,the exception is that you need to purchase 6 other cigars ( any choice) before you get the special pricing for the Opus. You would be able to buy 4 Opus cigars of any size. A Tin counts as 3 cigars. This is the site but scroll to the bottom:

http://elfumador.com/allarturofuente.html#Fuente Fuente Opus X Cigar

Opus X Double Corona 7.625 49 Rosado Single 17.75
Opus X Fuente Fuente 5.625 46 Rosado Single 11.25
Opus X Perfecxion X 6.25 48 Rosado Tin of 3 54.95
Opus X Reserva d'Chateau 7 48 Rosado Tin of 3 57.95
Opus X Super Belicoso 5.5 52 Rosado Single 14.25

Another site for good Opus pricing when they get them in,,which is pretty regular is:
Saborhavanacigars.com

If anyone lives in the New England area L J Peretti's is in downtown Boston and sells Opus at sticker pricing,,,but call before going there to insure they have them in stock.

Happy Smokes!
