  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Hi guys,

Have been looking at trying some G L Pease tobaccos but seeing as they are very hard to get over here I was wondering if any of you could recommend some of there best baccys before I put in a order from your side of the pond. I love my English and Orientals. like plugs and flakes. Is Jack knife any good?

Any recommendations would be most welcome.

Cheers.

to me, GLPease is the pete johnson of the pipe world; not a manufacturer, but a damn solid blender, and kinda enjoying some rock star status right now. to extend that, cornell&deihl, who make his shit, are like the garcias; they make a ton of stuff, and for a couple people along with their iwn, and almost all if it is killer, dependent on your tastes.

i have WAAAAAYYY too much shit i want to try, and i am still in the new and shiny phase of piping so it is all still exciting, but i have never regretted a GLP blend for a second.

EDIT: also, forgot to mention, but his burley blends have all been stellar for me. i dig the lat blends, but can see the criticisms...

To the point of the thread, my favorite GLP so far is Sextant. I've only had a few of his blends though and I couldn't possibly speak to their entire line.

I can tell his blends are all top notch but I've come to the conclusion that his cyprian lat heavy blends are not my cup of tea, at least when they're low in age. I like them well enough but they're at the low end of my list of what I'd grab in my cellar for a lat experience. Maybe as the lat settles down in the blends I have they will get great I like the rest of the flavors associated but I get a strong metallic twang from the heavy cyprian lat in his blends.

I really like Triple Play and I am really wanting to try some Jack Knife Plug. I liked Odyssey enough but like I said not what I'd grab first for a lat bomb in my supply at the moment.
