We sold the farm and damn it every time I read this thread I miss my garden. The new house is heavily treed and now that I am getting older the idea of bending over and weeding a garden sounds like a lot of work.

My goal this winter is to find or make a spot for a couple of raised beds, 4 or 5 blueberry bushes and a couple of fig trees. Maybe when my wife isn't looking I'll fill in the pool, that's about the only place that gets any sun!!

Getting to the end of the year here. A killing if habaneros, some random peppers, and tomatoes picked today.

I've yet to pick a habanero this year... only have a couple that are kinda close. Sucks trying to grow peppers around here.

It's starting to get cold so had to harvest the rest of my onions since they were starting to sprout. I had just been pulling them as needed since late June. I have them in the garage under a fan and then will store them in the sub-basement.

Now that I find myself with no farm and no arable land to speak of I though I would try my hand at hydroponics. I started on my greenhouse this week, half of it is a repurposed kennel. Waiting on the weather to clear up to install the film. I did start peppers (bell, Anaheim and jalapenos in rockwool this afternoon. Under the lights in my office.

I'll try to update the post as I make mistakes and try to figure out what I am doing!!

I gave my raised bed (9' X 36') a year off last year. I mostly grow tomatoes and had been having problems with what I believe to be soil borne disease from only growing tomatoes in it for 8 straight years (my bad) and grew only container tomatoes last year with good results. I have been trying to decide if I should give it another year and just continue fortifying the raised bed with organic material or if 1 year is enough. I am leaning towards giving it another year without tomatoes and just plant it in early lettuces, green beans, peppers, onions, garlic and potatoes and zucchini, plant in a cover crop next fall and grow container tomatoes again this year.

I know one thing, I'm ready for spring!

Not sure if it counts as gardening per say...but it looks like mother nature did some gardening of her own by way of raccoon or possum...have some blackberry sprouts appearing out back. I'm all for it! Keep on growing little fella...I could use some nice blackberry cobbler.

Here are a few pics of my garden this morning. 2 rows of green beans are just starting to pop and no signs of okra coming up yet, but it should happen very soon.

Three of my 4 garden beds. Onions, peppers, tomatoes, lettuce, spinach, peas, cucumbers. In the 4th bed is green beans and a couple more tomatoes. I have herbs in 2 half whiskey barrels and also trying a zucchini in a whiskey barrel this year.

That looks great Lomey. I wish I would have made multiple smaller raised beds when I built mine.
