George Burns Humidor Revitilizing Solution??

My pops gave me a case. Its main ingredient is Propylene Glycol. Would it be okay to use this solution as my humidification bead solution? That would seem to make sense. It actually makes more sense seeing they both are used to regulate relative humidity.........any one know or have thoughts?

do NOT add pg to beads. distilled water only.

pg is used in 2 types of humidifiers. those with the green florist foam, and those that use the "plant crystals" that expand to about 20 times their size when you add water (drymistat tubes). The beads have microscopic sized pores that release and absorb moisture. the pg will clog the pores.

RonC is right on the money, DO NOT add PG to beads it will ruin them.
