Yup, this is what happens when you take the country on a road trip down the spending highway. The possibility of Obama pushing for a VAT was mentioned by some very early on as a way to providing the cash cow needed to fund Obama's agenda. But it was put down as the rambelings of the right wing and alarmist.

How quickly people forget that not a "Dime" in taxes for anyone making under $250,000 a year. Oh wait, there was SCHIP, and the list goes on.
