If you can swing it, SkyCaddie is the way to go. It won't make you a better golfer, only practice does that, but it will make you a smarter golfer. It is a great course management tool and can keep you out of trouble if you listen to it. It tells you how deep the green is, how far to various hazards or just places you don't want to be and it can tell you exactly how far you hit your ball on every shot. Then you can really tell how far you are hitting it under "game" conditions.

Plus laser rangefinders are line of sight only. If you are two fairways over with a hill in between you and the green you have no idea how far!!! :sarcastic Don't laugh, I've been there.:hysterica

It is $30-$60/year depending on what membership level you choose.

Payne Stewart told a story once about asking his caddie why his yardages always came in distances ending in 0 or 5 and not say 187 for example. His caddie told him, "you're not that good." I'll never forget watching that interview when he told that story, of course I'll also never forget the day his plane went down. I cried like a baby.

I remember that, it was funny but true. Not the crash part.

All that needs to be said is, if your good enought that a range finder will help, you don't need a range finder.

I'll have to inform the guys I play with . Theyr'e all low/good players and we all use the laser.LOL

Depth of green-moot. What I want to know is exactly how far it is to the stick, do you put it past and pull it back- or do you land it short and let it release to the hole. Could be a decision between say 3 clubs, depending on the shape of the shot and the contour of the green. I like not having to pay annual fee's, and not having to download shit. Rangefinder straps to the side of the bag-it's always right there, no mounts or satellite signals to worry about either. If you have a steady hand, you can shoot a non-reflectorized stick at 200-225 yd.
