  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Seems to been cause of a broken part tho, not cheating

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Jeff Gordon's winning racecar in Thursday's Gatorade Duels 150 qualifying race failed post-race inspection, dropping him from fourth to 42nd on the starting grid for Sunday's Daytona 500.

Gordon's car was deemed "close to an inch" too low, according to NASCAR officials, due to the fact that a bolt on the shock fastener was misaligned.

"We're sure this wasn't intentional," said Robin Pemberton, NASCAR's vice president of competition.

No fines or point deductions will be assessed to the No. 24 team, according to Pemberton.

Despite the infraction, Gordon still goes into the record books as the qualifying race winner.

Gordon is a three-time Daytona 500 winner.

If it gave him and advantage I could understand the 42th starting place. I don't really agree with it tho. I think they should of took his qualifying time and placed him based on that. As if todays race never happened.

Lowering the car is an advantage, that is why they regulate the how high it needs to be.

Starting 42 at Daytona or Talladega is not near as bad as some other tracks, prividing you don't get caught in the middle of an early big wreck.

It COULD be unintentional, but then again, it could have been planned. I've rubbed the rules in off road competitions before. I've also been the tech that had to anticipate how people are going to bend them. The teams that you don't hear about cheating, just dont' get caught.

It only lowered the rear quarter panel.

Mike Helton, president of NASCAR, said it seemed like a mechanic just screwed up.

Anyway, why aren't you two playing in the Fantasy League?

I never even thought about it. Just kinda passed right over the treads.

I'm really an old school racing fan. Few years ago, I guit watching a few years go when Dale died. My wife is a big Jr. fan (imagine that) I watch it when I have nothing else going on. I'd much rather be at one of the local dirt tracks around here.

Rubbin's racing.

I've tried to find the answer to this and couldn't dig up anything....

I have 2 A drivers. You can only start any driver 9 times thoughout the season. But can you drop one of your A drivers and pick up another in the middle of the season? Or is the team you started with the team you carry though the whole year?

You can swap out your A, B, and C drivers anytime and as many times as you want...you get points for their qualifying.

You know how you can only start(place a check mark) one driver from A, two from B, and one from C each race? each of those "starts" count towards he nine allowed per driver.

Example: Ryan Newman is, historically, a good qualifier. He could be on your B team all year long but you can only start him for race points nine times.
