  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Got Robbed :/

Every state differs as to what is covered and what is not. In AZ this would not be covered under your car insurance. The smashed window would be, but no personal property. The personal property would be covered either by your home/renters policy or a business policy. If it's attached/built in to the car covered under car insurance. Everything else is not. The best option for camera equipment is to insure it separately under a personal articles floater. Sorry this has happened and if you need some technical help feel free to shoot me a pm.

What he said. Yeah I've been there a few times in the way of stereo systems. I had to always prove that the components especially the speaker box was "affixed to the vehicle" (the terminology used then) if it wasn't car insurance didn't cover it. Hate to hear these stories ...coming back to your vehicle broken into is a sickening, sickening feeling

Sorry to hear of your loss and the invasion of your car. This has got to be a real bummer and exacerbator at the same time. I hope you do find some kind of coverage. We will keep you in thoughts.

This sucks man. It's always a huge concern of mine because I drive around in a marked tv news vehicle with 30K of equipment in the back. Talk about asking to be robbed. We use bike locks to lock our camera to the back seat of our Escapes so that even if someone breaks in, they will have a hard time taking the camera if they are in a hurry. I don't know if you can lock your pelican cases to something in your trunk and if there is some kind of lock on the cases themselves just to keep it from happening again when and if you get new gear.

Keep your head up, things will work out.
