There's really not much "history" about the Rico's available online that is directly from them. Their website lists some minor stuff about the brand history & business ethics but other that this, I don't know of much published.

I can tell you that Guillermo is Colombian, in his 50's & a pretty big dreamer. He's always got a plan on how to grow different or better tobacco, make the factory look just like the Partagas factory or to grow yearround without fear of the seasons reaking havoc on the crops. GH is a brand that has experienced some pretty big advancements compared to others in the area. Efficient irrigation methods in lieu of standard sprinklers, more modern & controlled "casa de curados" & drying barns. Multiple locations where the tobacco is kept or fermented to eliminate the risk of being ruined by a storm. Guillermo's an all around pretty good guy too. That, to me, matters even more.

I don't know history, but I have tasted the 3 Siglos, very good, but not great...to my palate anyway. BUT, the #5 Corojo Red Label Is one of my current favorites! It's amazing how closely this cigar mimics the true Havana flavor and body.

The brand has received, I'm sure you've noticed, some very high marks here and there and I believe the #5 is their best selling cuvee.

Everon,
do you translate each post or does it do it automatically for you? I noticed you post in Russian under the English version
