  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over time BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

Hello, new here. I'm thinking about picking up these Fumas from CI. I like the regular #5, are the Fumas a nice every-day alternative for the price? How do they compare to the regular? Any input appreciated.

I don't have an experience with those sorry.

You should head over to the introductions thread and say hello to everyone and tell everyone a little about yourself.

i didn't know they made a #5 fuma. I know they have the 3 siglos fuma, which is really good. I'd go with those.

I have a lot of experience with Gran Habano. I know the owner(s) & have been to their operations in central America. The Fumas is basically a sandwich cigar (mixed fill) & depending on their age (really no way to tell from C-intl) they could either be pretty full or very tame. There was what seemed to be a bit of Ligero shortage end of 07/early 08. I tend to not be a major fan of the 5's spicy character so I stocked up with cigars I thought were much more approachable (when it comes to subtleties) now.

Thanks for the feedback, I'll probably pick some of these up sooner or later. I'll be sure to report back after I try a couple -

I've been through about half a bundle of the #5 Fumas now and my feelings are mixed. At least half of them have been duds. But the rest were great, for a buck and a half. It seems that the ones with the darkest/oiliest wrappers have the most/best flavor, but those are less than half the sticks in the bundle I've been smoking. Worse than that is the brittleness of the wrappers on these things, some of them crack if you only look at them, forget about getting a decent cut. I don't know, maybe I got a hold of a bad bundle. I really want to like these, but now that I put it all on paper, I'm gonna have to give these a thumbs down at this point.

I'll say this, your main complaint about the wrapper integrity/indication is 100% justified. In time, this will sort itself out. Right now, there's barely enough quality wrapper in Danli for their hand rolled, long fills. PM Sent.

I bought one bundle of each size of the Gran Habano Fumas and I ended up with about 120 cigars. They are very underfilled but as any fumas they are not the best of the best. To be honest about this I would only get the size you want and try one bundle out. To make sure that is what you want. I will not be buying anymore fumas again.

Bloody hell! Well, mate; I'd suggest to get a 3er of any cigar ye want to try BEFORE getting bundles (to avoid the dissapointment) or boxes. Now why don't ye tell us a tad about yerself in the Introductions forum?

Right now until Dec. 26 CigarsIntl have 10% off site-wide, so 20 GH #5 6x54 cost $58.46 and you get a 5pack FREE featuring the whole line = $2.34 a stick. Why buy disappointing (maybe) Fumas? Plus you can get a FREE 8pack of little "Piratas" (?) with ANY internet order!
Is this a buyer's market or what?
