  • BOTL UPCOMING MAINTENANCE

Hi Everyone, as mentioned in my introduction post, BOTL needs quite a bit of updating, patching and whatever else I might come across. Over the next few weekends BOTL may be unreachable on occasion as I do migrations or updates, etc. Just be patient - we'll be back! I'll generally try to keep these maintenances until later in the evenings.

I didn't see a spot for "smoking"...I don't do anything to the grass besides walking on it and letting the kids play in it. The Apt's. take care of all that.

Well once it's mowed I don't do anything with it. So I marked side shoot (I'm assuming just letting the grass shoot out the side) and nothing.

The owners of our house have some illegal immigrants run a mower over our few patches of grass left. I don't know what they do after that.

I used to bag but now I just let it shoot out the side. I got tired of having a huge pile of smelly grass clippings in the corner of my yard. I also heard the clippings help fertilize the lawn and that was all my lazy ass needed to hear.

I know this will have me hated once again, but here goes...

you have all no doubt seen my rock yard. I actually have a guy who comes by twice per year to spray my yard so not one blade of grass or weed can grow! let the flinging of shit begin...

I know a guy who lives in Phoenix. I think he said his sand is painted green.

That's great man. My mom's house she'd make me weed it a hell of a lot because she didn't want to pay a guy to spray it. Go figure.

My yard is mostly dirt from the rain and the dogs running around in it

My gardeners bag and then dump at the curbside for the recyclers to pickup.
I haven't mowed a lawn in years (grass allergies ... at least that's my story and I'm sticking to it.).

I haven't done anything but mulch my yard for about the last 15 years. Leaves the yard looking like you bagged it all. Nice and clean looking. I've never had a problem with thatch buildup at all.

When we are getting some decent weekly showers, which here is usually the case, I've got to mow every 5 days or so to keep the grass from getting completely out of control.

NEITHER, I actually compost most of mine. I have two 3x3x3 compost bins in rear of my yard. So I mix grass (greens) with house scraps like lettuce, banana peals, apple cores, almost everything (also greens) with dried leaves (browns) I save from the fall. I have 1 bin for active hot composting in the spring thru the fall, then move the entire heap to the other bin for until the next spring. I take almost all the ready compost for my veggie garden and some leftovers for the front of the house shrubbery.
